KEYNOTE PRESENTATION Developing a Sense of Belonging in Health and Physical Education

In this presentation, keynote speaker Cara Grant will discuss how her own social identities and “cycle of socialization” have impacted her work as an educator. Then, using data from the CDC’s Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS), she will guide participants through questions on what this data means for different marginalized subgroups and share ideas on how health and physical education teachers can foster a sense of belonging in their classes.
