I'm grateful for the opportunities that SHAPE America provides students and professionals to be recognized for their achievements through grants and awards. Now that I am a professional working in the field, I find it important to stay connected with other members who are equally passionate about advancing the field, and finding innovative ways to keep our youth healthy.

Membership has provided me with access to other member’s ideas – for instance, because of a colleague’s suggestion at the annual SHAPE America convention, I tweaked my own school's needs by completely changing how we manage our Field Day! Friendships are made at conventions, and you can reach out to them if you need a new idea for teaching a unit or have an administrator/district concern - these things are invaluable.
