SHAPE America Publications Committee

The SHAPE America Publications Advisory Committee works directly with the Director of Publishing in planning and publishing SHAPE America books. It helps develop, review and recommend topics, titles, proposals, partnerships and collaborative projects for publications that align with SHAPE America’s mission to advance professional practice and promote research related to health and physical education, physical activity, dance, and sport.

Further, the committee:

• Makes suggestions on authors for publications. Suggested authors are recommendations, not mandatory selections for publications.
• Serves as content reviewers for manuscript proposals submitted to SHAPE America.
• Suggests manuscript reviewers based on a potential reviewer’s expertise in a content area.
• Helps develop, review, evaluate, and recommend changes to the strategic publishing plan to be developed between SHAPE America and Jones & Bartlett Learning.
