Continuing Education Opportunities
The SHAPE America National Convention & Expo offers a wealth of continuing education opportunities for professionals at all levels. Earn valuable professional development credits by attending and participating in sessions and workshops at the convention, while staying up to date with the latest research and best practices in health and physical education!
Graduate Credit(s) from the University of Mount Union
Details
Convention attendees have the opportunity to earn one or two graduate credits from the University of Mount Union, Alliance, OH. To receive the credit, participants must purchase this option through the convention registration process, attend and summarize at least 12 sessions (for one credit) or 20 sessions (for two credits) on site at the 2027 SHAPE America National Convention & Expo, and complete a capstone assignment after the event. Convention registration is required.
Each graduate credit registrant will receive a comprehensive packet at #SHAPECharlotte with details on how to appropriately complete and submit all necessary materials to receive documentation of the collegiate credit. Please note that some participation opportunities at the event will not qualify as part of the session requirement for this credit (ex: general sessions, social events, Coffee Talks, special events, etc.).
Once a participant has picked up their packet on site in Charlotte, this purchase is non-refundable, even if the participant does not complete the necessary steps during the appropriate timeline to earn credit.

Continuing Education Contact Hours for CHES®/MCHES®
Details
Sponsored by SHAPE America, a designated provider of continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc., this program is designated for Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES®) and/or Master Certified Health Education Specialists (MCHES®) to receive continuing education contact hours. Total available Category I and Category II continuing education contact hours will be calculated and shared in early 2027. Convention registration is required.
A list of approved sessions will be available on this page in advance of the event.
CHES®/MCHES® should select the ticketed event “CECH” to purchase and register for CECH during the registration process.

SHAPE America Contact Hours
Details
The SHAPE America Contact Hours (SACH) program is designed to help attendees document professional development opportunities offered at the SHAPE America National Convention & Expo. Convention registration is required.
Some convention sessions will not qualify for SACH (ex: general sessions, social events, Coffee Talks, special events, etc.). If you have questions regarding what opportunities qualify for SACH, please reach out to convention@shapeamerica.org.
Please note that it is the responsibility of all attendees to confirm that SACH will count toward their licensing/credentialing/professional development requirements.
